Album Notes
(“Ma” as in Mamma; “Muse” as in the one who inspires)

Wholeheartedly fed by the folk and gospel traditions, MaMuse (Sarah Nutting and Karisha Longaker) create uplifting music for the pure joy of it and to inspire the world into thriving. Interweaving soulful and haunting harmony with lyrics born of honed emotional intelligence, MaMuse invokes a musical presence that inspires the opening of the heart. Playing a family of varied acoustic instruments including upright bass, guitar, mandolins, ukulele, and flutes, and backed by inspired drummer (Mike Wofchuck) these two powerful women embody a love for all of life. The synergy that is created through this musical connection is palpable and truly moving to witness.

With ten delicious years of co-creation and five full length albums under their belts, MaMuse keep their hearts tuned to the creation of music for the health of ALL BEINGS.

Total Medicine
I'm listening to this on repeat. I do this with all Mamuse albums. They have a way of fitting into every situation seamlessly and gorgeously. Nested in every song is a deep healing. It resonates on a cellular level. On the Soul levels. The vibration is that deep. If Mother Earth were epitomized in human form and song she would be these ladies. Truth, love, affirmation burbles forth in such abundance. Some of the tunes will make you dance, but it’s never forced, always as a laughter wave that you can’t help but shake to. And the calming tunes wash over me as total medicine. There’s no other group that does it for me like Mamuse. I’ve been listening for 4 years. There’s a tiny fraction of their songs that I don’t harmonize with totally, but I still like them. Respect. All the other’s never seem to wear out. They feel so good to sing along to. The world seems sane and gorgeous when their broadcasting. So not only is it wonderful medicine, it’s one of the most economical investments I’ve ever made. Totally timeless. I love them. If you’ve heard them I bet that you do, too.
