Album Notes
"Just a few months after his debut LP release Noon Blue, Wyoming psychedelic artist MantisGrove has written a new song titled, “Talking About My Baby.” The song is synth-experimental dreamland with longing lyrics to match. Mantis is a unique songwriter that piques curiosity, and this track represents that fact.

The song begins with light, airy synth sounds and the opening lyrics, “I’m thinking about you, you’re thinking about me too.” After the first verse, the song cuts to a bubbly, lighthearted synth break that is scattered throughout the song’s entirety, creating a dreamy effect to compliment the sweet lyrics about a significant other. The lyrics are backed by a separate transcendent beat that creates a floating effect when listening to the vocals. The song from, start to finish, feels like a daydream, taking the listener away from reality.

“Talking About My Baby” is reflective of Mantis’ overall sound as an artist and is reminiscent of the “Goddog” from Noon Blue. The song is lighter than Mantis’ previous work in its overall tone, and the synth used in the track is sweet and catchy, making the song memorable. It is not too repetitive but provides a pattern that allows the listener to sing along. “Talking About My Baby” is a favorite of MantisGrove’s and sets a positive tone for the future songs he creates going forward." - Abbey Williams
