Album Notes
Marc wrote the song in 1982, and the movie "on Golden Pond" was a recent hit, so he borrowed a line about sucking face from that. Much later Rockabilly King Ronnie Dawson recorded his version after hearing this, Marc's best version of the song. Ronnie changed the lyrics a little, with Marc's permission. Hear how they were originally written! Doug Bright, in Heritage Music Review described the song earlier as comparing to Chuck Berry's lyrical style, and the guitar as relating to thatof Buddy Holly, but that was an earlier version - here Orville Johnson tears up the fretboard, and Doug himself takes a great solo on the accordion in this long running Seattle area band (since 1987).
