Album Notes
Marcell is the most awarded Independent Soul artist from Baltimore to date. What's so impressive is most of Marcell's successes have come from good old fashion hard work. Marcell's soul was hard for local promoters and industry agents to embrace the first few years of his career, so Marcell began to promoted himself. He built an email base of thousands, one hand shake at a time. He began designing everything from his website to his album covers. He developed his own “luck”. After Marcell filled a few major regional venues, bars, clubs, and hotels it was clear his vision and talent were creating a movement.

Whispers are getting louder daily as promoters and booking agents are increasingly viewing Marcell as a brand and a force to recognize. It's hard to research regional artists in the Tri-state without seeing articles, e-flyers or newsletters about Marcell and his long time band of musicians "the Truth". He is one of the few artists that draws people to hear his original songs rather than the usual "soul" performances where singers gather crowds to hear songs from the great entertainers of yesterday. Audiences are ariving in hundreds and sometimes thousands to hear what Marcell has to say through his own soul. His performances are known to be more of an experience rather than just a show, ladies and gentlemen...Marcell.

DJ City Life

I have to listen to music whether I like it or not, but this is so much more than music. I'm serious. I'm not into religion much but Marcell has what my mother calls an "annointing" on him. The stuff he's saying is bigger than him, it's like he's gonna start a movement. His lyrics and his music is crazy. I played this album in my ride and I just frooze in the parking lot from start to finish. This guy makes you believe in love again, in family, in God... without ever asking you to do it. I got to see him live! Seriously, get this album!!! This is true Soul, Neo-Soul whatever you want to call it. It's the truth, Marcell is the truth!

Eternal Fan
I saw Marcell in a vocal contest in 2004 and he destroyed the place. I’ve have been a fan ever since. I'm a singer but anything Marcell does I become a student. His tone is second to none. He can make his voice so thin or so thick. He can get so strong or move vocally so soft & smooth through the air. Omg, we call him the "vocal assassin" in the NY Indi-scene. I heard from sources that when he made this live album he had vocal damage to his chords but HOW IN THE WORLD CAN YOU TELL!!! Smack me, you are fierce baby! Keep raising the bar, we need it! This business is field with too much mediocrity and folks who waste our money with their BS “live performance” but this - is MUSIC! Thanks for originality and excellence and a beautiful spirit. I’m sorry I’m in my house losing it to this real LIVE ALBUM! Love you man!

Yet Again!!!
Of the entertainers and singers today few are as consistent as Marcell. I'm just waiting to see him on the Monique Show! This album is a classic and Marcell is timeless, so ahead of his time. It's sexy, grown, real, transparent, genuine, enlightening, reflective, funny, & passionate. You can drink wine to Marcell, make love to Marcell, discuss over Marcell, relax to Marcell and prepare with Marcell. This is real music, real music. You did it again baby!

So Proud of you man!!! - Baltimore
I've seen this man's performance at least four or five times in the past three years and it never get's old. I love him, my iwfe loves him. We played Hopes Too High and Symbols from Baltimore to Atlanta non-stop and now this album will be added to the rotation. I agree with Karen when you and I mean when not if God brings you before the world on the TV screen they won't know what hit them. Keep celebrating love and self-reflection my man and we'll keep supporting you and buying your music Marcell. I'm a drummer and I'm critical of drummers but your drummer and bass player actually your whole unit is so tight live and clean, it's refreshing/ You are the vocal and lyrical king of Bmore good brother. Keep it coming!

Terrence Shaw (Baltimore)

Great music
I play all of Marcell's music in my barbershop. I had at least six of my clients download this album so far. Brother you make us proud. I know this guy on a personal level and he is the truth genuinely on and off stage. Super super proud of you brother! Thank you for making real music the gives black men a real voice instead of these little grown boys claiming they speak for black men. Marcell you speak for the black men I know. May God continue to bless your movement.

Hat’s off Marcell. This takes me back to seeing Bill Withers, Frankie Beverly and Stevie Wonder live. I guess I just told my age :). My husband and I loved "You Save Me" already from the "Symbols" cd, but this live version brought tears to my eyes. You are simply a true soul singer/song writer.

Kimberly Fenwick (Atlanta)

New Generation of Soul
This album is like Bill Withers lyrically, Luther Vandross smooth tone and Donny Hathway's spirit. The comparisons are more than fair Marcell is just in a category of his own! My favorite on this album is between "Greatest Love" or "Scared to love you"

Melanie Sutherland (England)

Great music
Bravo! I just wish I was actually there to hear and see Marcell with my own two eyes. Simply marvelous work.

Author Brewer (Denver)

Really good cd!
Great work, this will be a great piece of musical history as your career progresses. I’m really enjoying this cd

Peter Heiger (UK)

Marcell is a brilliant writer and vocalist. I've never seen him live so this is a wonder audible treat. I can't decide what is my favorite between "All I Know" or "You Saved Me" or "Can't Wait". All in all I give this album 5 stars. Bravo Marcell!
