ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Slainte Mhaith" was originally written to celebrate kindness and generosity at shows. I needed a song to increase my tips and CD sales. It's done okay for that. More than anything it was a fun song to sing about Celtic Kharma.

Something happened as I started listening to Christmas music this holiday season. I realized the song would make a beautiful Christmas song by emphasizing kindness and generosity. With a few small tweaks, "Slainte Mhaith Christmas" was born.

Slainte Mhaith Lyrics

Slainte mhaith. Slainte mhaith
Here's to your good health one and all
If you're soul feels rather thirsty
And you hear the craythur call
Raise up your glass
Sing Slainte mhaith

Many times in my life
I forgot the kindness code
I reaped the sorry seeds that I sowed
But when I gave, instead of took
That's when my spirit growed
My charity turned into Christmas gold

Your holiday’s a bare
You’re feeling rather low
You head down to the pub to watch a show
There the singer makes you smile
And the music makes you glow
Give some Christmas cheer before you go

Music and lyrics are by Marc Gunn. I also played autoharp and sang on the album. Nathan Deese provided background harmonies and instrumentation. His children and mine make up the background shouts along with Lee Seitz.
