Album Notes
Dear Friends, old and new,

As I sat down to write these notes, I realized that I have now been making music, in one form or another, for just over half a century! From my earliest alto sax lessons (when I was so small that I had to prop it up on a chair) to the collection you are holding in your hands, the joy and passion and love of music has been the center point around which all of the many changes of my life have revolved.

So this seems like the perfect time to express my heartfelt thanks to my teachers (in person and in print), to my parents and other supporters who saw my potential, and to the critics who have challenged me to keep moving ahead. And especially to you, dear listener, for allowing me to become part of your life.

Blessings, Marc

And now, some words about the songs (even though they speak for themselves):

I have a lifelong, incurable case of Wanderer’s Heart. This world, in these times, is an amazing place, and I want to see and appreciate as much of it as I possibly can.

When friends of ours asked Lyneah and me to perform a child blessing for their infant son, I knew that we needed music that was equally new for the occasion. And so we said, ‘Welcome To This World’.

Life (and Spirit) being what they are, I have no idea how long North Carolina will remain my home. But I’ll be filled with Deep Fried Gratitude every day that I’m here.

When Time Falls Away, the Universe unfolds before our eyes. It’s patiently waiting for us, whenever we’re ready…

Experience tells us that there are multiple aspects to our personalities. So it shouldn’t have surprised me to discover, as I wrote Angels Working Overtime, that I have an inner Vegas lounge lizard, baby!

Muses have a very not-of-this-world sense of timing. Many years ago, when I first heard ‘An Extraordinary Woman’, I didn’t know for whom it was. Now thankfully, I do - even better, I did - we were married in December 2007!

No matter how big our dreams are (and they can be), The Little Things determine how - and if - we turn our dreams into reality. They do make a big difference.

In October 2007, I had the honor of singing at the celebration of my son’s wedding. Denis and Carol, I wish you so many sweet joys, but most of all, I Wish You Love.

A beautiful day, a new destination, a soft humming all around me and a deep peace in my heart… it must be time for services at the Church Of The Little Back Roads. Aahhh...

What could be so important that Nothing Else Matters?
No spoiler here - you’ll need to listen to find out. (Life should
always have its mysteries!)
