Album Notes
Many people have seen Marcia Ramirez performing as a back-up musician with artists such as Rodney Crowell and Patty Loveless. With the release of her third solo cd "Life Goes On", Marcia is back performing with her own band to rave reviews. Her first solo cd, Compromise was critically acclaimed and Robert K. Oermann called her "An exceptional talent with a totally cool sound." As a songwriter, she has had cuts by artists as diverse as Jo Dee Messina and The Whites.

On her newest cd “Life Goes On”, Marcia Ramirez weaves a revealing tapestry of love, heartache and hope. From the true story of finding her birth parents in “Ticket To Tulsa” to the yearning of finding a way to keep a love alive in “Get It Right” she tells her stories in ways that make us feel she’s writing about all of us. “Almost Me Again” shows us that it’s okay to be just one after being a part of two for so long, and “Life Goes On” tells us that no matter what bad choices we have made in our lives, it’s never too late to find a better road in life. With an eclectic blend of musical influences, this cd allows Marcia to let each song become it’s own. If you have one of her first two cd’s, this is definitely a “must have”!!

Fantastic music!
My choices for favorite tracks are Red Paint Smile, Black Riviera, Give Up You, & Easier Not To. This is Marcia's best so far, in my opinion, even edging out last year's Barefoot Sessions album. It has music that will make fans of contemporary country very happy, and a lot of it could very easily crossover to the pop market. I think it has some songs that are pure winners, I think the whole album ought to be considered for some serious awards, and I think Marcia's fans are going to go nuts over it! Marcia Ramirez is a fine musician, a prolific writer of good songs, a good stage performer, sings with the voice of an angel, she's a wife, a mother, and a good looking, warm hearted, friendly person. Who says you can't have it all!! Thanks for the music Marcia.

This CD sounds fresh and real especially if compared to the "typical" sound coming out of Nashville these days. Marcia is a true artist. She sings with a soulful passion and her writing is first class. Every song on the CD has got something special and you'll feel like you know her by the end of the record. This album is worth 10 country albums. Nashville could learn a lot from Marcia and her talent. 5 Stars.

Country with Soul
Marcia Ramirez has proven that life does go on! This is without a doubt one of the best country/pop albums available on the market today. If you like good "Listening" music then this is your album. It flows seamlessly from tip to tale and takes the listener on a timeless journey of Love, Hope, Faith, Friendship, Despair, Pride and Broken Dreams; All without ever departing from the albums core theme which to me is Marcia's life. "Life Goes On" is an album that continues to give each time you listen to it; and it beckons to the listener to listen to it in its entirety. It’s not an album that is piece milled together - it is an album that flows and is done in a beautifully artistic manner. Highly recommend you buy this one for your collection.

What a voice!
I believe the mix of a clean, beautiful voice along w/ Marcia's story line that make for a wonderful listening experience. I saw Marcia on Nov 2, 2008 as a background singer for Patty Loveless. It was her vocals and enthusiasm that prompted me to purchase this cd. She seems to really enjoy singing and it shows in the cd. I would highly recommend it.

Music borne of the heartlands
Marcia's particular brand of country tends more towards the traditional style. She sings about the themes shared by both country and blues music: of heartbreak and tragedy; of optimism and hope, and of love found and love lost. This is the sort of music that was borne out of the heartlands of depression era America, and has provided the release for so many of the 'huddled masses' over the years.

She seems at her best with the mid to up tempo numbers. The album's highlight, the lyrically rich "Black Riviera", is a case in point with its tragic story of the consequences of loving someone from the wrong side of the tracks. "Give Up You" about kicking bad habits (partner included) is another cracking mid paced number. Of the others, "Get It Right" and "Red Paint Smile" certainly standout; and "Ticket to Tulsa" is a fine piece of heartrending storytelling and is the pick of the slower numbers.

This is music with passionate lyrics melded to catchy tunes. It is close enough to its roots to please the traditionalist, yet not quite close enough to alienate those who like a more modern and alternative take to their country music. Well worth checking out.

A fabulous third offering from the lovely Marcia!!!
Truly remarkable piece of work, Marcia’s third album ‘Life Goes On’ is nothing short of a masterpiece – eleven superb tracks beautifully written and perfectly delivered by the mature and polished quality of Marcia’s amazing voice. Although I suspect this album would not be as appreciated by “true” country fans due to it leaning more towards country/pop/rock genre, it has a different feel to it in comparison to her earlier albums, which both had that country twang… it does however, give Marcia a real chance to show just how versatile and powerful that voice of hers really is, I think it works really well. I sincerely hope we will be hearing more of Marcia and if the next album is as good as this one I will definitely be first in line to purchase it!

My new favorite CD
Every track on this record is well-crafted and well-delivered. Marcia has the voice of an angel, and I believe every word that comes out of her mouth. "Watching an Angel Fall" is especially poignant. This CD will not disappoint you!
