Album Notes
MIQ, the Marc Irwin Quintet, is an exciting album of original compositions and fresh new arrangements of songs form the American songbook. The groups members are Marc Irwin on piano, Bud Burridge on trumpet and flugel horn, Vinnie Della-Rocca on flute, alto flute and tenor sax, Dick Sarpola on Bass and Warren Odze on drums. The styles of the songs are varied, from latin influence to hard bebop swing to tender unique arco bass/tenor/trumpet trio sounds. Marc Irwin is continually searching for organic soloing from the group's members unifying the vast array of styles. The American songbook titles "Baubles, Bangles and Beads", Gershwin's beautiful "How Long Has This Been Going On" and the fun-filled "Bernie's Tune" are joined by Irwin's fresh and innovative original works. This is a must have for all jazz aficionados! Stay up to date with the groups goings on at marcirwin.com/quintet/
