Album Notes
Third time’s the charm. After a gap of nearly two years, Marco Santiago releases his third album, Blacker & Bluer, on 20 October 2015, with a total of thirteen songs including two bonus re-releases.

A versatile songwriter, instrumentalist, and singer, Marco combines his love of blues with rockabilly and a hint of the tropics on this album. His guitar work is reminiscent of Clapton and Santana, and his voice has hints of Boz Skaggs and Michael McDonald, but he definitely has his own distinctive tones and hues. He plays all instruments and performs all vocals on his projects to date.

When asked why he feels the third time’s the charm, he answered: “My first album was beginner’s luck. My second album taught me I didn’t know as much as I thought I did about producing and mixing! I will rectify that. Practice makes for experience earned.”

Marco Santiago is an American songwriter/musician currently based on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. He chucked a career as a high ranking professional earning a six figure salary with a National Intelligence Community to return to his first love: music.

His music is based on songwriting styles and flavors of the 1960/70’s, but with a contemporary twist. He blends pop with blues and jazz sensibilities. His projects explore adult alternative soft rock, Latin, R&B, blues and jazz genres.

Marco’s albums are released via CDBaby as digital downloads and physical CD’s available for purchase at the various major Internet music vendors. All Marco’s music is registered with ASCAP. Earlier works include Rudiments and a re-mixed/re-mastered Surrender (Redux) is in production for later this year.

Written, arranged and performed by Marco, Blacker & Bluer is a mixture of love and loss, home and hearth, and just plain fun – the experience gained over the past two years shines throughout Blacker & Bluer.
