Album Notes
This Holiday CD by the Lenny Marcus jazz piano trio really swings! Marcus interweaves both classic Christmas and Holiday songs with Vince Guaraldi's Charlie Brown music and Beethoven's famous Fur Elise (played in Marcus' own jazz piano style) and Sonata Pathetique. This album will warm your heart, not just for the Holidays, but all year long.
Marcus hails from Wash, DC, but worked for many years in New Orleans, studying and performing with legends such as Ray Bryant, Ellis Marsalis, Alvin Batiste, and recording with David "Fathead" Newman (Ray Charles' tenor sax man), Charlie Byrd, Frank Foster, Sonny Fortune, and many others. His band is a well schooled jazz group; their jazz is infectious! writes David Zylch in a review in Jazz TImes magazine, 2006.
Lenny now lives in Roanoke, VA
