Album Notes
The inspiration for this album comes from all the heartache of all the immigrants who have had to leave their homes, countries, their families and loved ones to travel to a foreign far away land and an unknown future.
In the early 1920's many Cretans and Greeks emigrated (due to poverty) to the states, North and South Africa, Canada, Australia and other destinations.
On a more personal note, two such immigrants were my grandfather's two sisters who were sent to America to arranged marriages. Neither my grandfather, his two brothers nor my great grandmother ever saw them again.
