ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Maribeth Alexander's passion is playing the piano. But it wasn't until around 2000 that she began composing her own music--music which combines some of the styles of the classical composers with more "new age" sounds.

Her first album, "Creation: A Musical Tapestry" was released in the summer of 2010--10 songs "musically describing" the first four days of creation as recorded in Genesis 1. The reviews of this CD were very positive, with most commenting that the songs sounded like "movie music". "Love Themes", her second album, was released in the fall of 2011--also 10 songs of the attributes of the emotion, "love". These songs have been described as "peaceful", "restful", and "calming". "Wings of the Morning", her first single, was written more "out of the box", with more 20th century writing techniques. It has the flavor of Debussy. . . light, airy melody with unusual chord structures.
