Album Notes
Still waters run deep. As Marie Glad’s debut album, Rescue Me, proves the best things in life are worth waiting for.

From the wistful yet upbeat All Fools Are Kings to the hauntingly melodic Rescue Me, from the soul-achingly beautiful Cry My
Love to the searing refrain of the balladlike Lucky Star - these are songs written from the heart that live on in the memory, as much for their lyricism as their raw honesty. Powerful stories born of experience. In the words of Songbirds, “The truth
has no disguise”- something that Marie Glad probes unflinchingly.

The Swedish singer-songwriter has released three EPs as a solo artist and member of the band Royal Sister. And it has taken her three years to complete her album. “The music, the expression, has matured and the voice dares to undress down to its core,” she says. Marie Glad has written all of the songs on Rescue Me and published them on her own label, Royal Sister, with support from her band and the visual artist Iva Troj. Several of the songs, among them the title track Rescue Me, have been produced by the bass player Daniel Kwon Joon Hult.

Reviews for the single Rescue Me (released in May this year):
”Rescue me is a moving and deeply resonant song. As well as a wonderful name, Marie Glad has this pleasant vibe saturating her music that I wish to return to.” (Groove 05/09)
”Beautiful, a mysterious voice set to minimalist music.” (Mats Guldbrand – dagensskiva.com)
