Album Notes
Miss Gogo wrote this song as a Christmas gift to her Mother and Father who were home in Nanaimo, B.C. Canada, while she was living far, far away in Dawson City, Yukon.

Marie Gogo is a popular singer, whose repertoire consists of a variety of jazz standards, show tunes, sing-a-long songs, and novelty numbers such as songs by Mae West, Marlene Dietrich, Cab Galloway and Fats Waller. Sometimes she throws in a tune on the musical saw!

During her years as a professional singer, Marie Gogo has been the lead vocalist with several bands and has sung in a variety of musical styles. She has worked in recording sessions, stage shows, musical revues, as a solo performer and recorded three albums, Crazy He Calls Me, You Were Made For Love and Bouwman, Black And Blue. Marie performed for four seasons in the Gaslight Follies in Dawson City, Yukon and was the leading lady in The Frantic Follies Vaudeville Revue in Whitehorse, Yukon for seven seasons. She toured and recorded with Juno award winning Jerry Alfred and the Medicine Beat and has toured Canada and Germany with Wynona Sue and the Turnpikes as well as Canada, Germany and Norway with Jerry Alfred. (Both are Yukon bands)

A few years back, Marie became the “Marg Osbourne” in the touring show Memories Of Don Messer’s Jubilee, staring Tommy Leadbeater.

On the local scene Marie occasionally appears with her fun combo, Marie Gogo and Bathtub Gin, which consists of top Toronto musicians Don Guinn, Ron Johnston and Cam Jobson.

These days, Miss Gogo can usually be found entertaining seniors in the General Toronto Area wearing lovely vintage style clothing, telling jokes and singing the wonderfully nostalgic repertoire she has developed during her career.
