ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
All is Love (EP)

On a content level, everything refers to Love - unrequited love, love for music - and the expectations and disappointments that are inextricably linked to this love... ;

1. “Love is not all”
A poem of Edna Saint Vincent Millay (1892-1950)
This song references the EP title, “All is Love” (but “Love is not all”).
Edna Saint Vincent Millay was considered an important, modern and unconventional woman who lived during the Jazz Era. She was at home in art circles and pursued her passion without the limitations women usually had to deal with in the past. She won the Pulitzer prize for literature, which was exceptional for a woman in the 1920s. Friends and family called her ‘Vincent’.

Because I feel very attracted to her life and work, I very much wanted to put this sonnet to music, to try to reflect the atmosphere that the work projects, a ‘cynical’ view on love.

2. “Does it matter”
An adaptation of the homonymous song from my first album “Tales from a Lonely room” (2014) but now with more emphasis on the vocal aspect and the phrasing, and expanded with drums.

3. “Si par hasard”
With the Kora in this track, I wanted to create a summer feeling and reflect desire versus deception, using a lighthouse as a metaphor.

4. “Troubadour”
An adaptation of “Travel got my mind” from my first album (2014) but now with drums to make it sound more ‘funky’Two of the songs have been recorded at my home in one take (“Love is not all” and “Si par hasard”) with Jouni Isoherranen on the electric bass. Jouni also contributed to my debut album in 2014.

Two of the songs have been recorded at my home in one take (“Love is not all” and “Si par hasard”).
