ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
BLUES in the SOUTH

With his own themes Abstract and Es Tu Vida, and Blues In The South by William Johnstone, Flat Broke Blues by Weiss-Thiele and Only Your Smile by his band saxophonist, Armando González-Farret, Mario Aguirre brings fresh air to the Argentine blues scene.

All compositions present different climax without leaving beside the principal idea: The Blues, which requires from the audition a relaxed and non-hurry attitude.

This Extended Play CD shows Mario's introspective style, from rural blues to soul, with an elocuent result: Es Tu Vida ran to the third place at the www.broadjam.com Top 10 Latin America Region Ranking.

A warm, traditional and deep experience in this worth listening CD.

A dazzling blues ocassion
This talented guitarist from Argentina knows all about how to handle and how to write blues songs holding out hope for a better day (“Abstract” and “Es tu vida”). He knows how to sing too and the band performance express familiarity.
Mario Aguirre´s guitar playing and singing are inspired and energetic reminds sometimes the heartfelt soul of Stevie Ray Vaughan.
The EP closer “Es tu vida” is a great way to end this dazzling blues occasion; it makes you want to start the CD all over again to feel all that energy and excitement.
