Tom... in His Words

by Marissa Mulder

A multi-award winning NYC cabaret singer, Marissa Mulder's voice has been compared to Blossom Dearie and Rickie Lee Jones. Her voice has a rich, warm smoky quality which compliments Mr. Waits's music very nicely.

Beautiful match of voice and songs
This is a tremendous disc, just out this week. Syracuse's Marissa Mulder turns the songs of Tom Waits into a show full of beauty, theater and quirks. Marissa's warm and sure voice pulls these great songs out of the Bowery and takes them uptown, cleaning them up while maintaining Tom's essential funkiness. "Day After Tomorrow" is heartbreaking. Listen to the samples and download it.
