Album Notes
Mark Berman's "The Genesis Project"

This is Mark's long awaited CD.

The tight harmonies and lyrical melodies on this CD are performed by five extremely talented, versatile singers. The music weaves gracefully through many styles - straight ahead Jazz to Samba, R&B, Gospel, Hip-Hop and Rock. The band expertly navigates these styles with great grooves and sensitivity. It's a thrilling musical ride.

"The Genesis Project" features world class talent - a quintet plus five singers. The musicians are: Cary Potts (bass), Rocky Bryant (dr), JJ McGeehan (gtr), Ted Nash, Aaron Heick (saxes), William Galison (harmonica), Clint Deganon (dr), Paul Adamy (bass). Singers: Latanya Hall, Emily Bindiger, Billy Stritch, Margaret Dorn, Bill Mitchell. Mark is on keyboards and vocals.

Mark has worked and performed with many legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Carole King, Gladys Knight, Hugh Jackman, Illinois Jacquette, Ben E King, Jackie Mclean, Buster Poindexter, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Richie Havens, Helen Reddy, Jennifer Holiday, Phil Ramone, as well as playing piano on the theme to HBO's "Sex and the City".

Michael Carlotta (NYC music producer, leader of NYC's Soul Sound Revue) says: "In New York City there are THOUSANDS of great musicians, but when it comes to hiring the single best keyboard player with the strongest R&B feel it’s Mark Berman-bar none!... if you want the best keyboard player on both coasts, for a deep groovin’ soul, R&B, contemporary Gospel, or hard driving Nashville Rock&Pop feel, call Mark Berman"

Mark comments: "I feel this is timely. The world is being abused and its health ignored. We are all part of this great small blue planet, and its health and people need our attention. We need a call back to Earth. A call to harmony. Peace must be achieved and our earth must be cherished, as well as all living creatures on it. This is our planet's natural state. Our call must be heard. My contribution is 'The Genesis Project'.

Thank you for listening to this."

This is a stunning work of art and all the singers & exquisite musicians meld together just beautifully -- not to mention Mark Berman's brilliant piano playing and composing/arrangements....
....I love all the songs but "Let the
Land Approach Us" always takes my breath away. As does PEACE....

Berman's Tour de Force
A vocal tour de force, yet also humble and gracious and spiritual, but not spiritual in the kinda way that's gonna put you to sleep. Mark Berman is KNOWN big time by many of NYC's finest and now he shows he has something to offer the world and the planet. It's a mix of Stevies' "Secret Life of Plants" with Steely Dan, Handel, and Herbie Hancock.
