Album Notes
After years circulating in NYC's underground, Mark D releases his first solo, studio produced album. Teaming up with DJ Storm of Wu Tang and producers Phenom, J. Glaze, and Gooch, "The Voice of My Tears" is and insightful and deeply genuine hip hop album.
Mark tackles every topic from the War in
Iraq, to being considered a "wanna be" for rapping, to being a student with so much promise, to the heart of the album his views after September 11th.
Unknown to many is the fact that Staten Island "the forgotten borough" lost the most people on September 11th. The Voice of My Tears is the story of a community that hasnt forgotten. Working in a Wall Street firm on September 11th, Mark shares the story of how that event changed his views and opinions of life. He put down the money hungry approach and started writing rhymes in honor of the people that were lost.
Combining thoughtful and entertaining lyrics that you are destined to rewind, with beats and melodic hooks that you will be humming all day, "The Voice of My Tears" is one of the most celebrated mixtapes to come out of NYC's underground in a very long time. Please take a chance and listen to something that might change your perspective on everday life.

Very good listen, above average lyrics, songs with meaning, great music.
This is the voice of the forgotten gotham whiteboy. This will be an enjoyable listen to anyone who actually listens to lyrics, also poppy hooks will keep the casual hip-hop listener entertained.
Overall a very fun cd, get it and spread the word, Mark D just got on the hip-hop highway and he'll be driving in the left lane sooner than even he may expect.

fresh beats
deep meaniful lyrics putting staten island on the map

This is one of the best CD's I have heard in a long time. I am not normally a fan of straight rap music, but Mark D puts together lyrical poetry with an addictive beat. The songs elicit emotions from amusement, to admiration, to an actual tear in your eye. There is a tremendous depth in this music that the r and b world has been missing, and is truly waiting for. I urge anyone who has a love of true music artistry to get themselves this CD.

I can't stop listening to it!

i was feelin EVERY song
Great lyrics, all of the beats were fire.. you couldn't ask for a more well put together CD than this one.. Mark D and Zudu, along with the help of DJ Storm put together something special and I think everyone should pick themselves up a copy immediately.

Strongest lyrics comming off this island in well over a decade
The lyrics on this CD represent the strongest lyrics from SI in the better part of a decade. Mark D represents something that ranks between inspirational and jaw dropping. For anyone who has yet to hear the work from D and his crew, the CD represents the only thing that will occupy your CD for the comming weeks. A strong presence by all those featured help to elevate this CD to heights that most of the underground can only hope to reach over the course of their entire lives.

High Octane

Reppin Staten is something of a lost art and gets too confused with "shaolin." In this CD it is evident that u can relate to all the masses. Its definitely a keeper and you need to get the right exposure in order to have the right people hear it. 1 Luv, High Oc - BK
