ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Mark Despault began performing as a young boy in Montreal Quebec. He quickly fell into the popular folk streams in the 60's. Influenced by the likes of fellow Canadians Gordon Lightfoot, Ian and Sylvia and Stan Rogers, he soon discovered American pop singer Harry Nilsson and singer song writers the likes of Mickey Newbury, Guy Clark and Townes van Zandt.

NATURAL REVELATION reflects all these soundscapes and many more. Having spent he life working in the woods of Canada this can be heard both in his music and his lyrics.

Amongst the artist playing with Mark on Natural Revelation is long time producer and friend Andy Thompson (George Fox, Arrogant Worms) and fiddler Hugh Miles (Bruce Cockburn, Loreena McKinnett and Robert Palmer).

Mark also records with:

The Wakami Wailers (Traditional Lumbercamp Music from the late 1800's and early 1900's)
Luck's X-RD (alt. Country like Guy Clark, Townes van Zandt and John Prine)
The Frere Brothers (Simon and Garfunkle meet the Smothers Brothers in small town Ontario)
