Album Notes
This collection of songs spans several years of Mark\'s creative output. The lyrics are mature, hard-hitting. The musical arrangments are customized for the message of each song. Many are simply unaccompanied voice and acoustic guitar, but produced songs can have anyone and everyone on them!

Some of the players on this CD:

John Santos- percussion
Jack Gates- guitar
Phil Thompson- drums
Nathan Rubin- violin & viola
Mac Stanfield- bass (Scruffy the Cat)
Stephen Fredette- lead guitar (Scruffy the Cat)
Simon Ritt- drums (the Daughters, the Darlings)
Frank Martin- piano
Grace Garne- Hammond B3
Eric Achen- french horn

\"The songs were so beautifully written, they are inspired and moving, with the weaving of voice and accompanying guitar mixed perfectly.\"

Ingenuity At It's Best
Mark's music is finely crafted to get his emotions across in just the right way. I have rarely come across an artist able to express himself so clearly and beautifully.

My brother recommended this CD to me, and he was right. The vocals really convey a wealth of emotions - I had the CD on at work and would frequently stop just to drift on the sound. The music is beautiful and thoughtful without even a touch of sappiness. A sensuous experience. Listen and be impressed with this guy!

Mark Lemaire\'s #1 fan

I gave this CD 5 stars hands down because it\'s one of the best CD I\'ve heard in a while. It speaks to you on a personal level and you can tell that the artist put his heart into it. The way his voice combines with the guitar is heavenly. If you don\'t get this CD, you\'re nuts!

Great stuff!
I have seen this guy perform and he is really quite amazing! He has heartfelt lyrics and a cool voice-- but besides this, his guitar work is way above your typical songwriter\'s \'strum along\' kind of guitar playing. Pretty complex stuff both lyrically and musically. His instrumental guitar solo stuff is also real clean and clear. Worth a listen, whatever style of music you are into.

Highly Recommended!
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT is a beautifully produced collection of classically styled, jazz-influenced songs for guitar and voice. There is a romantic appeal in these ballads, with Mark Lemaire\'s lilting, emotional vocals complementing his fingerstyle guitar instrumentals. My favorite is the soft jazz-infused \"Cornsilk.\" His mostly instrumental \"Deep Shade\" has a calming, yet rejuvenating effect on the listener. The title song is a lovely blend of folk-pop. Lemaire wrote seven of the ten songs in this disc, his three covers masterful interpretations of the originals. This album is a must for anyone who enjoys soft jazz, folk, and pop.

Practice Makes Perfect
This is a fantastic album, it's playing in my car and iPod almost constantly. The lyrics are sensitive and smart--he doesn't dumb down. I'm even more amazed at the guitar work, which isn't the usual strum, strum, strum, but complex and beautiful finger picking. So far everyone who has heard my copy loves it and I am definitely a fan!
