Rubato - Pieces for Guitar

by Mark Lemaire

Rubato music is calm and contemplative. It creates a perfect atmosphere for rainy afternoons, conversation, or drinking tea while staring out the window-- yet it\'s also engrossing enough to turn up, close your eyes, and listen to closely.

Album Notes
Mark Lemaire has been playing his special style of acoustic music since 1970.

The music on \"Rubato\" has been honored many times by the ways his listeners have put it to use. It has been used for cancer recovery, weddings, and a bridal bath. Children have made it an integral part of their evening \'going to sleep\' routine. The artist has received letters stating that the CD is kept on hand to calm frayed nerves during traffic snarl-ups. Somehow, this music has served many people in many ways.

\"It was an impeccable performance, never have I witnessed such control of the steel stringed guitar\'s sound. This was a flawless show.\"

—Marc Twang

\"Mark is a musical revelation. It is a rare privilege to encounter original material of this stature.\"

—Don Villa: concert promoter

Mark is not only a mind-boggling technical player, he is also able to express himself clearly and completely through his music. His soul shines through on so many of the tracks. You can just tell by listening how much time and emotion he puts into it. Wonderful.

Mark Lemaire\'s #1 fan

Mark Lemaire is simply amazing!! This is an amazing CD, and well spent cash. There are no words to describe his skills on the guitar, but if I had to give one word to describe his supreme guitar abilities I would have to say \"EXTRAORDINARY!\" If you don\'t buy this CD your missing out, big time.

Cindy van Empel

Oh my God, this is good
If you read the description of the CD, you might think that it's too quiet and nondescript for you. THIS IS NOT ELEVATOR MUSIC. Mark Lemaire, is simply, one of the best guitarists I've ever heard and I never get tired of listening to this CD. Each piece is unique--you won't mistake one for another--and combines a bond with the guitar with an ear for music. This guy doesn't just play music, he breathes it!

Guitar Perfection
In addition to the amazing writing and the virtuosic execution, this CD is, quite simply, long-term listenable. Mark\'s guitar tone is warm and invites you in. I tire easily of \"twangy\" guitar and \"sameness\" in guitar albums--but Ruboato stays in my rotation month after month. It is beautiful and varied.
