Rubato: Pieces for Guitar (25th Anniversary Edition)

by Mark Lemaire

This music has been used for weddings, traffic jams, and even cancer recovery. It's introspective and easy to use in the background, but enveloping and interesting enough to turn it up and listen closely. The 25th Anniversary edition-- enjoy!

Album Notes
This 25th Anniversary Edition is the same audio as the original classic Rubato CD. The only improvement is that many small scratches and guitar clicks have been removed using digital tools that were unavailable to us in 1992. We found the original photos and art elements in a dusty drawer and restored them into the 21st century. New photos from the original session are included, as well as a note from the artist on the recording of "Rubato".

This is 'staring out the window on a rainy day' music. You will find yourself listening again and again to "Rubato". Here are a few quotes.

“I have heard many wonderful CDs over the years, but a few of them just have that magical something. It is hard to explain. Rubato is one of those few. It is more like a companion than a recording.” -Steve Meckfessel

"A master class in finger-style guitar... One of many highlights - for me - was Mark's solo fusion of `Whiter Shade of Pale' and `Bach's `Air on a G String'. Simply breathtaking." -Don Hurley- Ruskin House Folk Club—Croyden, England

“It was an impeccable performance. Never have I witnessed such control of the steel stringed guitar’s sound. This was a flawless show.” –Mark Twang, Folkways Recordings
