ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
If you've ever considered yourself a Monster Kid and know what that means then these songs are for you.
It's actually the sophmore project for Mark Statler and His Creepy Classic Chiller Band. It's filled with some fun, novelty songs and some good old regular rock and roll. First off, if you are wondering who the heck are the Hammer Girls, here's some quick little info. These beautiful ladies were all part of the wonderful films that came out of London's Hammer Studios. Hammer made a big name for themselves when they started making horror films in the late 50s through the 60s and into the early 70s. They gave us wonderful actors such as Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and a slew of other very talented men and women. The beautiful ladies that graced the screen and grabbed the attention of every male species became known as "Hammer Girls". Anyway, through Monster Bash, a classic horror and sci-fi convention, run by Ron Adams in Mars, PA, Theron was able to meet some of these wonderful ladies and develop friendships and a shared love for music which lead to a few of them being a part of this project. Besides singing, the girls have all taken part in reciting Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven", which is introduced by Pittsburgh's own, Bill "Chilly Billy" Cardille who used to host late night Chiller Theatre, which would show all the great classic horror films on Saturday night. So glad to have Chilly Billy be a part of this! The CD is packed full of fun and some surprises. The original songs on here are: Swingin' With Hammer, Hammer Girls, Let's Go, Let's Dance, We Bring The Party, Circus of Fear, Queen of Outer Space, Give Me Mary Ann, Groove, Hottest Thing and 1313 Mockingbird Lane. There's even an original poem written and performed by Veronica Carlson. A BIG thank you to Caroline, Martine, Veronica, Yvonne and Suzanna for being a part of this and making it so special! xx And, thank you Veronica for the awesome cover artwork!
