ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Soon after finishing the Suolaparta album I started writing new songs. From about 30 songs I picked up these 12 that in my opinion formed the best whole together. The songs are independent of each others, but they all still tell about Jape's and Marja's life. They were 16 when they met, they enjoyed being young and fast, they wanted to build a happy family with many children. And so they did. However, quite soon they found out that they were constantly running out of money, so one night they decided to make it in one way or another. As Jape put it: "let's go and play a gig", and he took his .38 with him. No succeed. Little by little he wasted his life and lost Marja. When he finally got rid of booze and had even found God he wrote a letter to Marja asking for forgiveness ('Anna anteeksi'). The very last song is a love song for Marja ('when I was built there was left room for you, that's how God meant it: half + half is one'). Even if Marja is gone, he will always love her.

My band has done great job in arranging and finishing the songs with me and it was a pleasure to record them at Janne Huotari studios in Oulu in June 2013. The album release date was 12/28/2013 and the release gig was decided to happen in exotic Pärjän Kievari at Syöte Ski Resort, Finland's southernmost fell.

I wish people from all around the world could enjoy these songs, even if the lyrics are in Finnish. Take care of each others!
