Mark Weigle\'s debut recording, \"The Truth Is\" seems destined to be an out gay classic. Though it was released in May of 1998, the CD was voted\'s top album of 1999, and made the #4 spot on the year 2000 chart. Along the way it has garnered more votes and spent more weeks at #1 than any other CD in Outvoice history. Weigle was nominated for 2 GLAMAs in 1998, for Out Song of the Year, (\"If It Wasn\'t Love\") and Debut Artist. \'The Truth Is\' made This Way Out\'s \'Audiofile\' Best of 1999, and the song \"Oz\" was a GAYBC Top 10 of the Year.

\'The Truth Is\' fuses country and folk arrangements with passionate out gay lryics. Songs like \"The Two Cowboy Waltz\", \"Struggle of Love\" and \"No More Nights Alone\", (a duet with gay folk legend Blackberri) have become staples of LGBT radio playlists.

Reviews and Quotes: Performing Songwriter Magazine, Top 12 Indie Releases, Neil Fagen. \"Weigle\'s songs carry with them a sense of decency, compassion, love and trust that transcends politics and gender. If that\'s an agenda, we should all sign up.\"

Billboard, Larry Flick. Widely accessible...Weigle deftly crafts songs that honor gay experience without shutting anyone else out. His words are vivid and evocotive without overstatement.\"

Sing Out Magazine, Angela Page. \"Weigle is really good at placing bridges between the struggles of gays and straights. Beautifully moving lyrics flow with clarity and passion. He often visits the theme of the freedom to be and show who you are. Weigle is an excellent writer with an emotoinel delivery. ...his music is a way for us to place all love and loss in focus.\"

Gay Chicago Magazine, Mark Christopher. \"Weigle\'s strength is the combination of the simplest of lyrics with emotion-husky vocals that make one wonder: \"Geez, how the hell does he do it?\" as the seemingly plain becomes the profound.\"

A Wonderful Find!
I was so happy to find Mark Weigle's music again. I had heard his music in the 90's on an old cassette version but these CD's are so much more developed and complete. The music celebrates the human experience of gay life...I'm very happy for Mark Weigle...all his efforts have paid off!

my favorite CD
This has been my favorite CD since I first listened to it. These songs tell of the death of a partner ("If It Wasn't Love"), the love for a partner to busy to love ("Take Your Shoulder From The Wheel"), a VERY clever twist on "The Wizard of Oz" ("Oz"), and several others that are really touching.
If you own only one Mark Weigle CD, this one should be it. But don't confine yourself to only one. They're all good.

I enjoy listening to Mark while driving. I now have all of his CDs (I think - let me know of any new ones).
I totally enjoyed seeing Mark interviewed on the set of Joe Gage's movie 110 degrees in Tucson. I do as he said he does in the interview! His music really enhanced that movie.

Robb McDonnell

Ron McMinn

What a great CD! Mark is a superb singer/songwriter. First heard about Mark in an April edition of the Advocate. Got this CD plus his other three since then. Love them all. Mark's voice is so s-m-o-o-t-h!

You just have to get ALL of Mark's CDs
I loved this CD and The Two Cowboy Waltz is one of my favorites. Mark will win your heart.

Joe in Philly

I sooooo desperately want to slow dance to "The Two Cowboy Waltz" with a boyfriend. I heard this song on Sirius OutQ, the gay radio station, and wanted the CD ever since. Well worth the wait.

Weigle is making music history
The honest and undeniable emotional life of gay people is entering the mainstream and Mark Weigle is destined to be one of the reasons why. His songs are testament to the fact that when a man loves another man both are just as authentically climbing aboard the universal wheel of love as any lovers ever have.

The Truth Is
Found this cd to be very enjoyable. It is nice to have some music written for gays, about gays, and by a gay man. It really does a heart good to listen to these songs.
