Album Notes
The musicians who played on this cd are all from the Buffalo, NY area. John Brady and Paul Schimert co-produced the "The Elmwood Tracks" at the Reel Art Studio on Elmwood Ave. in Buffalo. Ann Phillipone came in and played piano and keyboards on the music and Jim Palys came in to play drums and percussion.
The music of the Marley Higgins Band is meant to take the listener on a journey through all the aspects of life and have the stories told in a somewhat folk song way but not to exclude the blues, country, or classic rock. The music is meant to be played live with improvisation. Even though Paul Schimert wrote the 10 original tracks, it is his belief that the performance of this music is in the hands of the perfomer. The drummer drums as the drummer wants too. The piano player plays as they see fit. The guitar and bass players play without direct instruction from anyone but their own artistic intuition.
All components of production of this cd was done in the Buffalo, NY area. This includes songwriting, recording, mixing, packaging, photo art, etc...The sound quality, musicianship, and artistic expression that is found on this cd reflects the diverse talent that exists in the Buffalo and Western New York area. The music being produced in this area is extensive and diverse and the music of the Marley Higgins Band is one component of it.
