Album Notes
Pianist Nada Loutfi, a U.S. citizen of Lebanese/Hungarian descent, with a Paris Conservatory education, enjoys a career as a soloist, radio broadcaster, and educator. She was a first prize winner at the Paris Conservatory who then came to North America for advanced studies at the Banff Center for the Arts in Canada and at Indiana University in the U.S. with the late pianist Gyorgy Sebok.

Her last recital tour took her to Tokyo and Nagoya, Japan. In New York City, she has performed Lebanese composer Elias Rahbani’s works and recorded pieces by classical/jazz composer Eugene Marlow. Nada has notably performed piano concertos of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Grieg, Rachmaninoff, and Ravel.

Nada organizes, hosts, and performs in her own concert series “The Classical Hour” in Louisville, KY, where she has nurtured a large following of listeners over many years. “The Classical Hour” is a once-a-month live broadcast and a weekly pre-recorded program every Sunday at 4 p.m. local time which can be heard worldwide over the Internet. It is available as a free download at http://www.crescenthillradio.com/the-classical-hour-nada.html.

Eugene Marlow has composed 240+ classical and jazz pieces for solo instruments, chamber ensembles, and jazz big band. His classical solo and chamber works have been performed by the Kandinsky and Corigliano String Quartets, the Circadia Woodwind Quintet, the Alaria Chamber Ensemble, and virtuoso pianist Nada Loutfi, among others. His jazz pieces have been performed by the BMI Jazz Composers Workshop Big Band, the Primary Colors Trio, the SYOTOS Latin/Jazz Band with Chris Washburne, The Numinous Orchestra, The Andy LaVerne Trio, The Trevor Day Big Band, the Manhattan School of Music Latin Jazz Orchestra (under the direction of Bobby Sanabria), and the George Gee Big Band. He is a former member of the BMI Jazz Composers Workshop, and current member of the Jazz Education Network, the Jazz Journalists Association, and the New York Composers Circle. Marlow is also senior co-chair of the Milt Hinton Jazz Perspectives concert series at Baruch College (The City University of New York). Marlow’s first CD was the critically acclaimed “A Summer Afternoon With You” (2005), a collection of 10 original jazz compositions for quintet led by pianist/composer Michael Abene. A second CD, “Making the Music Our Own” (2006), is a collection of nine Hebraic melodies recast in various jazz styles. Collectively, these two CDs have been aired on radio stations in 22 countries, including the United States.

“Les Sentiments D’Amour” (with pianist Nada Loutfi) is his first classical CD project.
