Album Notes
Produced, mixed and mastered by indie rocker and accomplished producer, TJ Lipple (Recorded at Inner Ear Studios, Arlington, VA), Gravity Vacation is the debut kindie (kids independent) record for DC-based singer/songwriter and music teacher Marsha Goodman-Wood. Called “a unique blend of science and positive social messages encompassed within toe tapping melodies and sing-along worthy lyrics” by the School Library Journal. The original melodies mix generous doses of science and positive social messages into songs that are just plain fun. Marsha's quirky, smart compositions take on topics from astronomy (answering the age-old question "Why Can't You Dance on Jupiter?") to nonconformity ("Sheep Don't Wear Shoes") to biology ("The Penguin Song"). According to the Baltimore Fishbowl, "...talented/celebrated/scientifically astute yet adorably warm and amusing... Goodman-Wood has a reputation for getting kids up and dancing. I can attest: Parents will want to dance along with their grooving brood!”

A former cognitive neuroscientist, Marsha includes fun facts and lessons in her songs. With tunes and stories that please children and grownups alike, this fun music is a great fit for your home record collection, while the educational content also makes it a great addition to any library or classroom collection.

* The Gravity Vacation album was nominated for a Wammie for Best Children's Music Recording of 2012 by the Washington Area Music Association
* Sheep Don't Wear Shoes was awarded an Honorable Mention in the 29th Annual Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Competition

Good for your brain!
Listening to Marsha Goodman-Woods' album Gravity Vacation is a great way to have fun with your kids, while encouraging them to learn scientific concepts, with plenty of room for silliness. Engaging and fun - you won't regret it.
