Album Notes
In 1993 a wildfire swept down the mountain I lived on. I was in a tux and had just placed my 17th Century Italian cello in the car when I looked up and saw the smoke. I ended up in the swimming pool hiding beneath a rowboat, fearing for my life. My cellos, art and armour were also in the pool....thank the gods because the house burnt and the boat caught fire. I was a professional studio cellist and had recorded hundreds of sessions and film dates, Out of Africa, Officer and a Gentlemen. But after the fire I did not mean anything anymore to play music for a microphone in a room full musicians who were all as bored as I. I was missing the audience and the emotion that fills me when I play.

So I picked up the electric cello and began performing and that works for me.

Marston is Cirque du Soleil meets Led Zeppelin. His unforgettable performances on his unique electric 6 stringed cello are virtuosic Tour de Force and costuming visually stunning.

He performs his heroic music worldwide for Cirque du Soleil, Vegas Casinos and corporate events for Goggle, Microsoft, Toyota, Toshiba, Fox, Disney, NFL, and PGA.

Marston has opened for the B'52's and Michael Buble and performed with Stevie Wonder, Neil Diamond, Beach Boys, KISS, Cue Tip, Barry Manilow, and Rod Stewart.

He has 2 DVDs and 14 albums, three are with Actor/Pianist John Ohurley and they reached 20 on Billboard. Marston’s PBS special comes out in early 2010.

My C.D. from Marston is Greeeeat !
I thoroughly enjoy my C.D. I listen to it on my way to work to start the day. Very upbeat. Great. I also have another of Marston's C.D's, I listen to it in the evening to quiet down, very relaxing. Thank you

before Time forgot
Everyone has heard tales of haunting alluring music sung by siren's songs luring sailors to destruction in ancient Greek mythology. This is how I felt! Spell bound, when I first heard Marston Smith's beautiful music wafting along with enticing aromas of cotton candy over the Pomona Fair grounds several years ago.I followed the sound until I saw Marston playing his electric cello lost in a magical realm all his own.I bought two cds at that time.I bought this cd and another, just as enthralling,These are must have additions for any musical library.Thank you for making my life richer.

Marston Smith is the Master of the Electronic Cello
I really enjoy this CD as it's very lively and quite the "toe tapper"! I let it play over and over and enjoy it more and more.
I have ALL of Marston Smith's CDs and enjoy every one of them in their different moods.
But I do HIGHLY recommend this CD!!

Great contemporary cello music, no doubt. I think Marston has a potential to create real masterpiece(s) that will be in the treasure music box for ages to come. I give the album 4 stars as I found the drum-machine to be rather boring. It is also very clumsily used in the intro to the 2nd track (which boasts probably the best cello playing on the whole album). I think a lot of those who like cello will agree that it is very hard to listen to 56 minutes of drum-machine, despite the "medieval trance" idea. Hope the next album will be with a live drum kit. Thank you Marston!
