Album Notes
In 1986, Martha and the Muffins, known at the time as M+M, released their 6th studio album. Co-produced by David Lord, (Peter Gabriel, Tears For Fears, XTC), 'The World Is A Ball' featured a stellar roster of musicians including Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson), Yogi Horton and Tinker Barfield (John Lennon, Luther Vandross), David Piltch and Mike Sloski (K.D. Lang, Mary Margaret O'Hara) among others. Now after 30 years since its initial release 'The World Is A Ball' has been reissued on CD.

‘The World Is A Ball’ the 30th Anniversary CD reissue includes bonus tracks from the same studio sessions as well as a 20 page full colour booklet with lyrics, behind the scenes photos, band and press quotes and more. If you liked the band's previous 1984 release, 'Mystery Walk', (also available from CDBaby), this album is for you!

"...its return is more than welcomed. It is a brilliant album that deserves to be rediscovered."
- Aaron Badgley, Spill Magazine, April 16, 2017

"...musically intelligent, fearlessly exploratory of new sounds and ideas, and fully committed to the dreamlike imagery and subliminal emotion traced across the band's career." - Leonard Nevarez, Sound It Out, March 15, 2017

"'The World Is A Ball' is a mature, consistently exciting, and unique collection of songs...Meanwhile Johnson's voice is stronger, throatier, and more exciting than ever..." - Jonathan Gross, FLARE Magazine, September 1986

"Sophisticated, intelligent and engaging, the duo's polished efforts still retain the edge that put it on the global map in 1980 with 'Metro Music'". - Valerie Gregory, The Edmonton Sun, May 21, 1986

"By no means your average radio fare, 'The World Is A Ball' is a viable alternative from a creative force who care enough about their music not to compromise set standards in search of a quick hit. The challenge is there for you to find the hits yourself."
- Keith Sharp, Rock Express, May 14, 1986
