ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Martha Brooks and Jeff Presslaff have been a musical team for over three years.. Out of their weekly sessions have come new ways, new approaches, and Jeff’s stunning arrangements of some of their favourite songs — always twinning their hearts with the emotion at the centre of each. Their first album, All My Tomorrows, featured fresh new takes on the songs of Sammy Cahn. This new record is a duo album, recorded it at Jeff's place, featuring his beautiful piano and recreating the intimacy and inventiveness of their musical conversations. Their equally inventive and enthusiastic sound engineer, Don Benedictson, completed the team, essentially bringing his studio to them and making the whole process loving and comfortable. Martha's other great talent is as an award-winning author, and her smoky-voiced delivery of these timeless lyrics reflects that deep relation to the written word. Jeff's piano playing is spare and concentrated, and his arrangements complement Martha's interpretations perfectly.
