ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Martini Brothers have been getting phenomenal response from Bay Area music and dance lovers, as they regularly step into the smooth 1930s-50s style of swing from the golden era of Hollywood's glamorous "night life".

Since beginning his Bay Area singing career in the early 90s, Bob Dalpe has gained popularity and rave reviews for his outstanding interpretations of classic jazz standards. Bob's repertoire consists of the classic songs written by songwriting giants including Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart, and Lerner and Loewe, as well as some of Bob's own original tunes. And if you're a Sinatra fan, you'll see why much of Bob's claim to fame is from the incredible likeness of his voice to that of the great Sinatra.

Mr. Rick, guitarist and personality brings a special background to the Martini Brothers. His guitar playing style is one of the rich acoustic and rhythmic sounds, reminiscent of Freddy Green of the Count Basie Orchestra. Watch for his humorous interplay on "Is You Is, or Is You Ain't My Baby" or the silly quips he trades with brother Bob during and between songs. He is also known for his role in Mr. Rick's Martini Club (a kind of "floating" 30s - 40s style cocktail/dance/supper club), of San Francisco and Oakland.

The Martini Brothers look terrific on-stage. Their impressive collection of Panama hats and fedoras, two tone shoes (spectators), snappy suits and wide ties evoke another more glamorous era.... and then the quality of their music completes the effect of transporting one back in time. The Martini Brothers generally perform as a six-piece band but are expandable to meet the needs of your event.

The Martini Brothers have performed at almost every San Francisco hot spot such as: The Top of The Mark, The Compass Rose, The Garden Court at The Sheraton Palace, The Coconut Grove, Enricos, The High Ball Lounge, Julie Ring's Heart and Soul and many more. In addition to night clubs, The Martini Brothers have been regularly called on to perform at gala events such as: The Napa Valley Wine Auction, The S.F. Symphony (Summer in the City Pops concerts and their New Years Gala for the last 7 years). The Black and White Ball, The Red and White Ball and some of the Bay Area's most exclusive corporate events and private weddings.
