Album Notes
“Count Yourself Lucky” is Marty's most unique album to date. After founding the original Manhattan Transfer in his teens, Marty has worked as a freelance singer/writer/producer in NY all his life. He has always loved all forms of music, and this collection takes you deeper into his passions. It is intimate and speaks to both personal and societal issues.

1. "These Streets Don’t Roll Just for Anyone" is an indie Americana acoustic song that looks at the personal trials of facing one's choices in life.
2. "Bury the Bone" is a rock/indie power track about looking ahead to preserve what you gain in life.
3. "Take the Shot Now" is a fun pop/rock band track looking at the light side of modern technology's capabilities of digital photographic memories.
4. "Make This Moment Your Own" looks at the fleeting choices we all make in life and how we cannot stand idle in our timeline, waiting for something to happen. "Seize the Day"
5. "Mon Papillon" is a fun retro-pop French/English song that looks at falling in love.
6. "Fathers and Sons", a country-flavored power ballad, talks of the relationship of values passed down through generations through the bonding of a father and son.
7. "Yes. I'll be Home for Christmas" is a heartfelt Country tribute to our Servicemen and Women - a message (letter or email) being sent as the realization that their term of service is ending and they will be going home to see their loved ones by Christmas.
8. "Silent Night . . . Stop the Madness" takes the classic Christmas song and juxtaposes its peaceful hope and beauty against the horrible violence and societal injustice being thrust upon the Syrian people right now. The music is also the soundtrack to a video that is posted on Marty's YouTube channel under the same name. link: This CD song-only version has a narration prelude by Marty that does not appear in the online video.
