ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Marty Q a veteran saxman and vocalist will dazzle your ears the the most lush sounds on this romantic CD
After Marty stamped his sweet soprano sax sound on "My Girl" on Shanachie Record's compilation CD titled "Smooth Jazz Plays Motown's Favorite Love Songs" Marty teamed up with the producer Chris "Big Dog" Davis to do his own project.

This is great for chillin' or drivin' or whatever. Hear his vocals on track 3, a nice crossover blend into smooth jazz/pop/R&B.
Produced by Chris "Big Dog" Davis and bobbi "Funkeeboy" tammaro. Also featuring the vocals of Phil Perry on "I Need You"
Also featuring Leila- warm style, incredible voice on the duet "True Blue"

Marty Q’s credits include Soprano Sax on "My Girl"  for Shanachie Record's compilation CD titled "Smooth Jazz Plays Motown's Favorite Love Songs" (2007) Marty also appears on Vesta Williams CD "Distant Lover" (2007) with an alto sax solo on "Ooh Baby Baby" also on Shanachie Records Label. To date Marty Q has sold 24,000 CD’s and downloads combined as an independent artist.

Chris Davis credits include producing 6 tracks on Najee’s “My Point Of View” CD (2005) This CD went to #3 on Billboard Charts and also produced 6 songs on Najee’s “Rising Sun” CD (2007). Chris Davis has also produced numerous CD’s for artists Maysa, Phil Perry and more.

"Only a few guys in the business play that sweet soft tone on soprano" - Chris "Big Dog" Davis -

"Marty's tone is Superior" - Neil Reshen (former mgr. of Miles Davis)

Just a Must-Have CD
It's very rare for me to love an entire album this one gets my 100% nod. This project is excellent on all levels and would deeply complete any Smooth Jazz Collection.

SmoothJazz.com Review
While the statement, “those who can’t sing… play” is usually true, this is not the case for saxophonist Marty Q. On his new disc, TABLE FOR 2, you’re sure to be wowed by his soulful vocals and some of the sweetest sax tones to hit Smooth Jazz. This is evidenced on “True Blue,” a rousing duet with R&B singer Leila. Equally as engaging is the primarily instrumental bonus track of the same song. “Love Serenade” offers up a cool groove, while the fun and funky vibe of “New Beginnings” is delightfully embellished with old school scatting (think: Manhattan Transfer). “Eclipse” is a syncopated ditty with a big metropolitan, straight-ahead-jazz feel that’ll keeps you coming back to it. Produced by Chris “Big Dog” Davis, TABLE FOR 2 features a balanced menu of stellar soprano, alto and tenor sax work and an amuse-bouche from guest vocalist Phil Perry. With this release, Marty Q is on the springboard to stardom!
