Album Notes
Marty Thomas is a singer of remarkable ability who made his Billboard debut with "Resurrect Me (Lift Me Up)" on Westend Records in 2001. His dance tunes soar into the realm of the club anthem with Marty's shining vocal delivery firmly at the helm. Remixed by artists such as Tom Moulton, Hex Hector, Blaze and Julian Marsh, he was recognized with Grammy nominations and Billboard awarded the song, song of the year in the gospel/contemporary christian category.

Marty Thomas possesses a performance history as impressive as his vocal talents. Perhaps one of his most notable accomplishments was his winning the title of 1992 Junior Vocalist Champion on Ed McMahon's Junior Star Search television show beating the then unknown, Britney Spears.

Raised on a farm in Northern Missouri, Marty Thomas began honing his skills as an entertainer at a very early age. Singing in church and local talent shows he managed to earn himself a bit of a fan base before ever having taken a music lesson. He performed in many community theater productions and quickly graduated to larger scale regional theater. Before he was ten years old, he was performing as a featured soloist heading choirs of musicians twice his age. He was also featured in numerous television programs and commercials, and at age eleven, he was cast as one of the leads (Colin) in the Broadway musical "The Secret Garden" for which he moved to New York City. Marty then attended the Professional Performing Arts School where he began an intense education in the arts studying alongside some of todays hottest celebrities.

After "The Secret Garden," Marty returned to Branson, Missouri to further pursue his singing career. Joining a young country pop band called The Young Branson Stars, he performed eight shows a week while attending public school full time. A popular act, The Young Branson Stars opened for many country favorites, among them The Oak Ridge Boys, Glenn Campbell, Steve Warner and Shennandoah.

Throughout high school and college Marty continued to perform in theater productions, national tours, country music venues and in various choral and theatrical competitions.

In 2000 Marty returned to New York City where he, like many like him, supported himself with various odd jobs while continuing his training as well as auditioning and performing. Marty performed with "The Black Nativity" at the United Palace Theatre in New York City with such artists as Phylicia Rashaad, Bebe Winans, Stephanie Mills, Freddie Jackson and many many more.

In 2004, Marty made his return to the Broadway Stage performing in the mega Broadway Musical "Wicked". With the original cast he performed on the Tony Awards and many other television shows. After performing with Wicked for three years, he joined the original cast of "Xanadu" once again performing on the Tony Awards and remained with the show for it's entire run on Broadway. He continues to sing and write with some of the greatest artists in the industry. He can also be found performing often at the drop of a hat in various cabarets around New York City with his hot live band, featured on this album. At such a young age, he has performed with such esteemed artists as Patti Labelle, Grace Jones, Billy Porter, Jordan Hill, Glen Campbell, Sheryl Crow, Motley Crue, Whoopi Goldberg, Florence Henderson, Cheyenne Jackson and so many others. Respect for him and his talent is clear throughout the music industry.

In 2010 Marty toured Europe with the legendary Gospel group, The Harlem Gospel Singers lead by Queen Esther Marrow. He was the very first caucasian vocalist to receive the honor of being invited to perform with this traditional gospel ensemble. He wowed skeptical audiences and garnered critical acclaim every night with his understanding of gospel music and his ability to blend seamlessly with these gospel legends.

Marty's powerful vocal technique has been compared to Taylor Dayne, Andy Bell, Jamiroquoi, Anastasia, Sam Harris, Alyson Moyet and even Celine Dion. Extreme control and versatility are synonomous with Martys name. From powerful showtunes, to throw down gospel, to R&B, to Country Funk, Marty is a versatile performer and has a large fan base that continues to grow.

Marty Thomas is a winning combination of great pipes, moves, spirit and stage presence that comes together like alchemy to deliver gold.

I have been a big Marty Thomas fan ever since his very first hit "Resurrect Me (Lift Me Up)", a great inspirational dancefloor anthem. I was absolutely delighted to hear that after such a long time, he had finally released a full album. Gone are the dance tunes but what a blast !! Marty's voice is a jewel that shines like never before and gives me chills. The tunes - from showtunes to Cyndi Lauper and Celine Dion ballads - have been carefully chosen and showcase Marty's talent. This CD is top quality material and should hopefully help Marty's career sky-rocket. I can't wait for another album as I cannot get enough of Marty's voice. Also wish I could see him live but in the meantime, this disc will not leave my CD-player. Congrats, Marty, don't make us wait too long and keep making us happy !!!

Mart Thomas is New York City's best kept secret. He has the kind of voice that makes Justin Timberlake and even Usher sound like amateurs. He can sing any kind of material, make it his own and bring down the house. His undeniable charm and quick wit only seem insignificant next to his big heart that pumps out as he performs. I'm still waiting for the day Marty is on DIVAS LIVE and nobody cares that he is a man. Support this artist...before the entire world claims him.

Great voice and full of power!
I love Marty's sound almost as much as I love Sam Harris! I was blown away by "Lost in the Wilderness", and I can't get it out of my head! At $18.00 for 8 songs, thank God he comes though! Nice sound, a bit too pricey.

Oh my sweet Jesus in Heaven, what a voice!
I just don't even know where to begin. I happened upon a live show in New York. Marty bowled me over, not only is he witty and charming and funny and adorable and beautiful, but his voice????? It's simply unrivaled. I've never heard anything quite like it. He makes me forget about time and space. I bought the album (he even signed it for me! *faint*), I just can't do anything else while listening to it. I can't clean, I can't work, I can only sit down and listen and dream. I have to mentally prepare myself for I just had to hear your voice, for the waterworks are inescapable. Sometimes I'm forced to get up and dance when You say you will comes on. I have naughty thoughts when Lead Me Not comes on. I'm in love with this man, this talent, this album, this web page. Anything that sports Marty Thomas is a definite must see for me. I LOVE MARTY THOMAS!!! Buy this album or make the biggest mistake of your life!! Run don't walk! Get your credit card! Do yourself a favor. you might want two for home and the car! Hurry!!!!!!

I feel privileged to have had the chance to see Marty live onboard a cruise ship in January. His voice was amazing; his stage presence was powerful and sexy; and his personality was stellar!! I bought his CD onboard and have listened to it almost everyday since. This man should be a huge success! I encourage everyone to buy his CD and, if possible, check out his performance at XL in New York City...I plan to next time I take a trip to NYC.
