ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
MARUJAH fronted by lead singer, lyricist and guitarist Enrique Madico, is all about world sounds. The unique blend they call World-Step/Dub-Funk/Electro-Rock is not exactly what you'd expect of a band hailing from Tennessee. Almost equal parts Rock, Reggae, Latin, Electronica, and Jazz-Fusion, Marujah continues to kick out pulse-pounding live sets while maintaining song structure built for popular radio. The raw energy produced by the six members of Marujah is both the band's and audience's greatest asset as witnessed in the many over-the-top live engagements.

The band recently commissioned Julian Tydelski (who has worked with several artists in the Latin genre such as Kiko Cibrian, Jesse & Joy, Reik, Frankie J and others) for a Remix of their Reggae-Rock favorite "5 O'Clock". "My goal was to maintain the integrity of the original version and also make it a bit more up tempo and rhythmic," states Remixer Julian Tydelski. Tydelski who is also an Artist, Producer, Engineer, DJ and Multi-Instrumentalist ended up cutting new Drum, Percussion, Bass, Keyboard and Vocoder tracks and blending them in with key elements of Producer Jake Caldwell's original vision. The result: an equally infectious up-tempo Latin Funk/Rock number to keep the dance floor moving. Marujah is excited about the Remix and is hopeful that the music industry will consider them for the Grammys this year under the Category of Remixed Recording.
