Stay Thou Nearby

by Mary Hiett

This is an inspirational three-song medley taken from some old hymns. It is what I have been calling a Hymn-strumental. It is piano instrumental along with strings. I think it would make a wonderful addition to everybody's music library.

Album Notes
I am excited to see this spiritual medley finished and available for your music library. The medley is comprised of three old hymns - "I Stand All Amazed," "I Need Thee Every Hour," and "Abide with Me Tis Eventide." It is a piano and string arrangement. It is what I call a Hymn-strumental medley. I think it is both beautiful and uplifting.

A Brilliant Masterpiece
It has been a joy and a pleasure to see what composer Mary Hiett calls a Hymn-strumental medley, evolve from the initial idea of creating a medley of three hymns into the awe-inspiring masterpiece that is "Stay Thou Nearby." This is a medley that everyone should add to their music libraries. It is also an inspirational medley that can be used for church services, as a special musical number, at baptisms, and even as comforting music at funerals. What Marry Hiett, with the help of her arranger, Morgan Byers, has created is something that is truly inspired. Many lives will be touched and blessed as they listen with the prayer in their hearts, "Stay Thou Nearby." Well done, Mary Hiett! Well done! I look forward to more of your great music.
