Album Notes
Arrangements and Korg Karma Keyboard by Chris Stolpe. Harmony Vocals by Jennifer Peart.

"...a strong contender for general listening collections. Her fluid voice is perfectly complemented by Jennifer Peart's vocals and Chris Stolpe's keyboard accompaniment. The songs, all original, vary in style, encompassing jazz, folk, rock, and even a bit of country. Her play list includes a variety of themes, including a song about colors, bubble baths, an ogre, a dancing ball for dolls, as well as familiar storybook characters like Baba Yaga, the Big Bad Wolf, and Humpty Dumpty among others, all with their own twists. Sleeping Beauty, for instance, learns that her beauty lies within her, and is encouraged to open her own eyes..."
-Kristen Martindale, School Library Journal

"Gentle folk-flavored tunes with a pinch of love and appreciation for the child within us all."
-John Wood,

"Each original tune holds wonderful wholesome lyrics set off by beautiful melodic voices. It gives new meaning to folk music. Children of all ages will enjoy this delightful CD."
-Janet Stokes, The Film Advisory Board

"Keep making wonderful music!"

We love to blast Mary Kaye's music loud and dance!
Great to dance to...but also soothing. My twin girls love the song "Deep In The Water"...the one about the octopus!
My oldest daughter's favorite song is "Sleeping Beauty." When she listens to it, she likes acting out that she is Sleeping Beauty. We love to blast Mary Kaye's music loud and dance!

I highly recommend it!
Mary Kaye's music has an honesty, complexity, exuberance and independent beauty that will challenge both children and grown-ups who listen. I highly recommend it! "Colors" is a song that makes me want to drag Mary with me when I teach poetry to kids as an artist in residence. Mary Kaye must have the "hello-to-life" poetry in her soul-it's in her music.

Kathleen O'Sullivan

My daughter (and my husband and I) have all enjoyed this newest cd to our collection. Mary Kaye has a beautiful voice!

Sue Horowitz

This is a beautiful first CD for Mary Kaye.
This is a beautiful first CD for Mary Kaye. She has a finger on the pulse of the interests of young children. There's lots of good material for preschool and music teachers. Her voice is folksy and lovely. If you like this CD, check out Mouse Jamboree- another great kid's CD!

Baba Yaga on I Sang It Just For You
Several of my students discovered the story of Baba Yaga in a book when we were studying Russia recently. They really were fascinated with her, so I brought in Mary's song to give them another perspective. Now they ask me to play it almost every day, several times in a row! We all love it.

Arlenea Batchelder

Beautiful voice, imaginative lyrics, a CD for kids AND parents!!
Had enough of the Wiggles? Put this music on and dance, dance, dance!! I Like to Eat Sweets (my personal favorite)is guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face. Stuck inside on a Winter day? How about going on a treasure hunt "Looking for Pennies". I actually used this song and hid pennies around the house for my preschooler--we couldn't STOP singing the song! This CD has it all!! Fun, catchy songs mixed in with some beautiful soothing ones, also!

Joy Mueller

My daughter's favorite!
My 13 month old daughter and I listen to this cd every morning! Everytime the first song starts she smiles and starts "dancing." We've been listening to it every day, almost since she was born, and we've never grown tired of it. I love to sing along, and it's sometimes been the only way to distract a cranky baby long enough to get a shower. The vocals and accompaniment are outstanding. Excellent cd!

James Arieti

A great CD from beginning to end!
These are catchy songs that will delight children of all ages, stirring them to laugh and sing. And when sometime they’re feeling blue, they’ll pop the CD in a player and laugh and sing again. A wonderful CD, from the cheerful art work on the case to the last note of the last song.

Alexis Dascoulias, Theatre Education Director

Great for classes of young people
These songs are great for creative drama classes! COLORS is especially popular with my pre-school students and I LIKE TO EAT SWEETS is a great snack-time song.

Mary Ellis

My kids love this!
I received this CD as a gift from a friend and my kids listen to it often. The original songs are just that, original! It has a nice variety of peppy and wind-down tunes. Favorites include Sleeping Beauty, Like to Eat Sweets and Looking for Pennies.
