Songs that blend thoughtful lyrics--in one case metaphysical and erotic, in the other poetic and poignant--with haunting melodies sung by a powerful voice that's been called both angelic and dark. A Vanity Fair Twitter pick!

Album Notes
"Crucified (La Petite Mort)" was inspired by my husband, Robert Rosen (author of "Nowhere Man: The Final Days of John Lennon" and "Beaver Street"), who appears on the cover in a photo taken in London. (I'm on the cover too; the silhouette is based on a photo of my shadow.) The music was arranged, played, and produced by Terence Dover (Céline Dion, Avril Lavigne) at Hotbed Studios; the vocals produced by Freddie Katz (Patti Rothberg) at Sienna Studios; both in NYC. "Time" was produced at Mercy Sound Studios in NYC by Nick Miller, who arranged the music and played all the instruments.

I started out as a writer and try to create songs with literate lyrics and appealing melodies. Tracks from my album "Blue Lights" have been played on radio stations internationally, with Ohio talk-show host Louie Free calling the title song "a Christmas classic" and Mexico City's Guillermo Henry, who devoted an entire show of "Radio Etiopía" to the album, declaring that “Mary Lyn has the voice of the very angels.” (Well, maybe if the angels like to occasionally do a cover like "You Can't Do That" or "Be-Bop-A-Lula"!) You can stream some of my songs on soundcloud and myspace.

I regularly play clubs in New York City, such as Ella Lounge, National Underground, and the Killarney Rose on Beaver Street. I also write about music; my interviews with singers such as Linda Ronstadt and Debbie Harry are on

Crucified -- Move over Tori Amos and Jesus! A haunting, heart-wrenching, beautiful song. Time -- another knock-out from this brilliant singer songwriter.
