ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Mason Black started down the road to music around 4 years ago. It was during his first year of university that he realized he was bound for a life in a cubicle. Being proactive about what was essentially a very depressing situation; he dropped out and spent a year examining all the paths that would keep him far away from cubicles and closer to what he loved. Not being good at much else other than music, he decided that it was logical that this was the right path for him.

As an artist, Mason Black raps and sings about issues which he feels people can connect to. Being sick and tired of hearing songs which are either vapid love songs, about a party in the club, or about bitches and bling; he strongly feels that your lyrics as an artist should always say something. Lyrically, he draws inspiration from all corners of life, while some of his major musical influences include The Streets, Eminem, Tracy Chapman, Mike Shinoda, Tupac and Coldplay.

Mason Black is a self-taught pianist and guitarist. He produces hip-hop, but has a deep love for both rock and electronica.

Great potential. Nice songs.
I got this cd not really knowing anything about this guy. Gotta say i was pleased with the EP though. The songs are fresh, and his lyrics are great. I wish there was more hip-hop like this.
