Album Notes
They Went & Danced the Night Away is a narrative story-telling song about musical instruments at a dance being anthropomorphized into characters that get together at the dance.

The instrumental fiddle phrases are meant to sound like conversational speech patterns. In effect, what a boy and girl meeting for the first time at a dance might say to each other.

The second verse is twin fiddles, no narrative; the third verse is twin dobros, no narrative & the fourth verse is twin fiddles & twin dobros together.
