Album Notes
Peeblefytzer Rag is a modern bluegrass composition written by Jim Bowie, who I hung out with in Santa Fe, New Mexico back in 1972 & ’73. He played 5 string banjo and trombone and was part of a local group there called The Family Lotus. It was this group's use of the cello (Hugh Hazelrigg) and the group’s high energy approach to orchestrated bluegrass music that convinced me that it might be fun to play some “symphonic bluegrass” with an orchestra. The orchestra played along with us on this tune in our live concerts, but I never got the orchestra added to these tracks… therefore, these tracks leave a lot to the imagination.

The musicians:
Mason Williams – rhythm guitar
Byron Berline – fiddle
Rick Cunha – lead electric guitar
Jerry Mills – mandolin
John Hickman – 5-string Banjo
Don Whaley – Bass
Hal Blaine – Drums

Recorded in the fall of 1984 at Ed Boutwell’s recording studio in Burmingham, Alabama.
