ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The first of a three-record retrospective project designed to revisit and re-imagine songs from Matthew's library as selected by friends and fans, a crowdfunding perk given to those who helped bankroll his last album Songs In the Key of Your Face (also available on CDBaby). Volume 1, with songs from The Hangdogs' debut EP Same Old Story (1996) all the way through Matthew's second solo album Ghost of Rock & Roll (2009), is designated as the minimalist record in the set, with all songs rendered primarily with acoustic instruments and limited "band" instrumentation.

All songs written, produced and performed by Matthew Grimm, except for "She's Leaving You," music by Matthew Grimm, lyrics by Matthew Grimm and Julie Weingarden Dubin. This record also features Hannah Drollinger on violin, Slim Simon on lead guitar and pedal steel parts and Danielle Boiardi doing back vocals on "St. Claire of Cedar Rapids."

Executive producers: Danielle Boiardi, Colleen Murphy, Rich Hendin, Barbara Norris & Mark Mundy, Stephanie Czajkowski & Colin Friesen, Goose & Dan Pekarek, Melinda Moseley & Jeffrey Bowie, Edward Tallon, Jim Gorman and John & Shelly Flippo

Recorded in Madison, WI. Mastered by John Svec in Iowa City, IA. Art by Brandy Gale.
