Album Notes
Matthew S. Hopkins attended the University of Oregon where he studied piano performance, composition and computer programming. Through high school he studied piano performance with Victor Savant in Germany and Victor Steinhardt in Eugene, earning the Chopin award as a senior at South Eugene High School. Following school he worked as a computer programmer, playing keyboards in bands and arranging music on the side. He was music director for his local church for 3 years, writing original works for choir as well as arranging music for choir and various instruments, for 3 years before beginning his career as a piano instructor.
