Album Notes

Since the early 90’s Matt Miklus has been keeping himself busy all over the north east region as a guitar player/singer-songwriter with the original rock band Hubinger St. He has also been busy in the local area on his own with different acoustic music ensembles. This continuous composing, studying and performing for over a decade has earned him a large repertoire of original and cover songs/tunes, a natural comfort while performing for audiences and has sharpened his musical skills.

Matt has recorded five albums with Hubinger St. and two acoustic CD’s on his own. Summer 2007 he completed his latest acoustic CD effort "From The Hillside". This project was recorded by Chris Delvecchio at Underground Sound in North Haven, CT and mixed by Paul Opalach at Longhill Recording in Shelton, CT. "From The Hillside" is a mix of original and cover/traditional pieces. Some are solo acoustic numbers, some are overdubbed multi-Matt tracks and there are a few duo and trio pieces . Including two songs featuring Matt’s current acoustic combo The Nameless Trio.

The Nameless Trio is Chuck O’Donnell (guitar, vocals), Pete Orlanski (bass) and Matt Miklus (mandolin, guitar, vocals). Chuck O’Donnell is a veteran of the local CT acoustic music scene as a member of the Liz McNichol Band, Stealin’ Back and many different Irish folk ensembles. Pete Orlanski is a graduate of the music school at Western CT State University and is currently studying at the NYU Steinhardt Music School while also keeping busy performing jazz, rock, bluegrass and any other genre of music in many different ensembles.

Whether performing as a solo act or with a band Matt’s music efforts have been well received in Cafes, theaters, clubs, Coffee houses or events throughout the north east for many years. Music is endlessly enlightening and enjoyable for him and audiences can see and appreciate this in his performances.
