Album Notes
Inner City is the latest release from guitarist Matt Raines. Many of you may know him from his many years as a veteran of the East Coast jazz scene. Others may remember him from various rock and fusion bands. If you have not heard Matt Raines play the guitar, you should do yourself a favor and buy this CD. This recording showcases Matt's composition, lyrical playing and excellent sense of feel and dynamics-and did I mention possibly the most flawless technique you may have ever heard? Although Inner City can be categorized as "smooth jazz", these songs are deep and interesting with incredible performances from Matt as well as saxophone player Dave Guidi. This cd is an absolute must have for anyone who loves jazz, guitar or just great grooving music. Inner City will not leave your cd player.

My new favorite cd!
I am not a big fan of smooth jazz but this is different! The most grooving cd I've heard in a LONG time. This has a bebop/acid/smooth/funk vibe to it and is laid back and energetic-depending on your mood. It fits no matter what I'm doing-which is incredible to me. I hope he does another record soon-very soon|!!!
