I agree with Steve at DSM- the sound is very reminiscent of James Taylor/Cat Stevens and also a bit of Ben Folds Five. I love the piano in particular and the song I Dream of You. All around however the whole CD is great listening and although reminiscent of some great musicians, clearly a unique and interesting sound. Enjoy!

It made me smile
Considering I held Matt when he was a baby, I got a particular kick out of listening to the music. I was pleasantly surprised and admired your ability to pull this off.

Feel-good, unforgettable tunes
I've listened to Winding Down, Dream of You, and Wind Coming Down over ten times each now. These three songs really deserve to be hits. I'm sure if a widely-held artist put them out today they would take instantly. There is an extreme song-writing talent behind this cd! Great music.

Songs by Mr. Awesome
This is a really nice CD. The music stays with you long after listening to it and the lyrics paint pictures that are vivid and lasting. It is written and sung by the kind of guy you wish for when you think of the perfect boy friend -- strong but sensitive, confident but understanding, swaggering but apologetic when necessary. He must be awesome. Mr. Awesome, if you have ‘nothing to hide,’ why can’t I find someone like you now?

Check it out.
You'll soon be wondering how you've lived so long without having these songs in your life. This is an album as clear as crystal. A piece of untainted genius. At times, it can also be a brutal record that changes you the same way prison changes a man.

Steve at DSM

An original and distinctive sound with easy artist recognition.
Good listening original music with a style that manages, at times, to be reminiscent of James Taylor (Winding Down), Billy Joel (10,000 Lies) and Steven Sondheim (Shame on Me) yet different enough to be distinctive.

Hard to pick a favorite (I like them all) but "Wind Coming Down" has a definite hit quality to it.

Impressive freshman effort from a musician who proves he’s more than a dilettante with good studio help. In his vocal sweet spot, Stone is James Taylor-smooth, but occasionally gets aggressive with his range. Still, he’s interesting to listen to, and a pretty good tunesmith. The lyrics are genuine and revealing, and this reviewer keeps replaying a couple tracks in his head. All in all, a welcome new entry to the crowded easy listening/soft rock genre. We’ll be paying attention to Matt Stone and eagerly awaiting a next release.

An excellent group of songs that combine romance & excitement
An excellent group of songs that combine romance and excitement. Especially liked Shame on Me (has a Sondheim feel to it), If Your Were Mine and Winding Down. I'm humming them already.
