Album Notes
Mauricio Callejas [kah-yeh-has] is a troubadour from El Salvador. He sings poetically about love; love to his country, love to the world as a common gift that we all share.

In this CD, “Mágico”, Mauricio shares stories about his country El Salvador, but also includes songs that show how the life has been as an inmigrant and artist in the US. This album was recorded in Austin, Texas, produced by Stephen Doster and includes some of Austin’s best musicians, like Jazz Legend Alex Coke, Michael Ramos (Charanga Cakewalk) and Joel Guzmán.

Mauricio studied popular guitar since he was 8 years old. In the 90's, he took classical guitar classes with Candido Morales who was a student of Mangore, the Paraguayan guitar legend. Today, his musical influences include “Nueva Trova" "Canción Latinoamericana” and “Rock en Español.” In 2002 Mauricio Callejas released his first solo CD "Cosas de la Calle" and then he moved to the US the same year where he lives.
