Album Notes
Tranquility and Passion" is an apt title for Mayumi Abe’s inaugural recording. Mayumi’s passion for singing and music in general is enthusiastic and infinite, yet there is a tranquility about her demeanor that conceals an inner confidence in her abilities that truly shines when she sings. The quality of her voice is of clarity, honesty, beauty and depth. She can be sassy, teasing, cute and innocent, but persuasive depending on the song and genre. Her singing is dynamic. This recording is hopefully just one of many more to come that will demonstrate her commitment to improve her artistry, having begun singing seriously a mere eight years ago. It takes courage to sing and perform. It takes even more courage to record. Many feel that they will never be “ready.” Mayumi’s passionate tranquility proves that one is always “ready” if the desire and commitment are there. Please enjoy the first harvest of her hard work with the hope of many more seasonal feasts to come. It has been a joy working with Mayumi on this project!
